We collect information you provide directly (name, email address, map data, uploaded files) and information collected automatically (usage data, IP address, browser type). Map data — including pins, layers, and uploaded files — is stored on your behalf to provide the service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve Mappa IQ, process your account, respond to support requests, and send transactional emails (e.g., share invitations). We do not sell your personal information or map data to third parties.

3. Third-Party Services

Mappa IQ uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Clerk — authentication and user management
• Supabase — database and file storage
• Anthropic — AI chat (Nila). Conversation content is sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses.
• Mapbox — map rendering and geocoding
• Google Maps — address geocoding
• Stripe — payment processing
• Resend — transactional email
• Vercel — hosting and infrastructure

Each service has its own privacy policy governing the data they process.

4. Data Sharing

Your map layers and data are private by default. Data is shared only when you explicitly generate a share link or invite a collaborator. We do not share your data with third parties except as required to operate the service (see Section 3) or as required by law.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from Settings. Upon deletion, your map data will be removed from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

6. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (TLS), row-level access controls, and hashed credentials. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

You may access, update, or delete your personal information at any time through your account settings. To request a full export or deletion of your data, contact us at hello@mappaiq.com.

8. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session and remember preferences. These are essential to operating the service. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice in the application. Continued use of Mappa IQ after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
